Snowy Trees V, acrylic on linen canvas, 30 x 40 cm, 2022.
The Snowy Trees series of paintings are inspired by my immediate surroundings in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Looking out of the window and during neighbourhood walks, I notice the fluffy white snow nestled in the corners of branches and lining horizontal branches like outlines. I use a cooler winter colour palette of whites, blues, violets and browns. Snowy Trees is about the everyday of this Midwestern winter.
