“De Haan Forest Staircase”, acrylic on canvas, 30 x 40 cm/ 11.8 x 15.7 in., 2020, is part of my Forest Series. The painting captures a sense of enchantment that I felt at the abundance of colour and natural composition I would often come across during my daily walks. I was struck by the pop of the small white flowers against an aged wooden fence and the curve of the staircase, which leads the eye up and ever so slightly to the left. The large flat stones look as if they are protruding naturally from the earth. The light coming through the trees gives a sense of a secret garden…or forest!
This painting comes in a contemporary, white-painted wooden floating frame including a hook on the back for easy hanging. A certificate of authenticity (COA) is included with the purchase of this painting.
